I don't see anything in here about a conviction, and also nothing about Pao being the alleged perpetrator, and thus remain in a state of appalled disgust at what you have written.

There's no evidence that the prosecution would be for anything non-'journalism' related; that is unsupported speculation that the author doesn't imply or suggest.

That doesn't clear anything up or indicate guilt.

But since you're not accusing Koh and have no evidence then basically what you wrote is irrelevant to this case.

There's probably a reason for the fact that there has never been a criminal case such as you've described, and it's for that reason the above poster is safe in writing what he did.

No one here was looking for a conviction because there was no crime.

The goal here was coercion via intimidation.

Did you read the article? There doesn't seem to be any particular evidence that he _did_ anything; he's detained without trial.

But there was zero evidence of any such intent in this case.

You didn't even read anything about the case!

> There's no accusations to rebut.

It certainly looks like there are in the court filing that sama's article links to.

Your claims may all true and may all reflect bad behaviors, but I don't see any evidence that they were involved here.

How parag isn’t being prosecuted boggles my mind.

"He has not been convicted of anything"

And I did not say he had. Your entire comment is based on a false premise (that I believed that he had been convicted) that you have invented.

It is only an indictment, not a conviction.

Those are just allegations, not facts.

But yet not evidence he was convicted of anything but non-violent internet crime.

The point is there is no evidence of a crime. There is no reason for the public to dig into this person’s life with such fervor.

I have no idea; it's certainly not one that's seen any prosecution.

I don't know where you're going with this, you haven't given me anything to reply to here, and so I suppose I'll simply stand by what I wrote. I am certainly not accusing anyone of committing a crime.

exactly, the first thought I had after reading the press release was: soooo nobody went to jail for this?

The linked article doesn't mention "prosecutors" or "evidence" in any way.
