You're basically restating the conclusion of the piece.
The author states that this (presumably) intentional choice undermines the Apple brand that includes quality and uncompromisingly excellent user experience.
This is pretty brutal and disingenuous IMHO. If this is considered proper justification for flagging this post, I'm not surprised why there's such a positive Apple slant here.
This isn't cleverly anti-Apple, it's just petty. I have plenty a gripe against some things Apple does, but the piece here makes a net zero good points.
What are you talking about? This isn't a pro-Apple article, despite its protective coloration. As you point out, the article isn't even about Apple. And the author hardly sounds like a partisan fan of Apple, or even of Linux. His tone is that of someone who is being forced to go on a particularly unpleasant diet.
