Regarding offline payments perhaps what they mean here is that you as the wallet holder don't need network connectivity but the merchant does?

So not truly offline, rather low bandwidth and indirect transmissions, and unencrypted, and Lightning, and custodial wallets. Sounds like worse in every way than just a centralized mobile based solution.

I'm a regular desktop Safari user and you'd be surprised how many websites are just flat out broken in Safari, especially government sites. Part of the reason I use it as my daily driver is to ensure that the websites I'm working on get tested properly in Safari since the defacto browser for most developers seems to be Chrome.

This is the tyranny of the majority. Devs often won't even test Safari. They check one browser. Once that was IE. Now it's Chrome.

I run into site quirks on Firefox from billion dollar companies and government sites at least weekly.
