Misusing flagging and advocating for others to misuse flagging is already not OK.

You believe that but the people who run the site believe otherwise and have said so. Flagging is a way you can help them and everyone else moderate the site, not an invitation to engage in a contest of wills over a settled matter. Chances are, if you keep doing it, you'll lose your ability to flag.
