Online participation needs changes to be more worthwhile:

1. Micropayments to participate.

2. Names, verified identities, and pictures. 37signals did a whole article about how people treated each other when there was too much anonymity.

3. Elimination of karma and other gamification. Promotion based on anonymous interest of others.

4. Automatic recognition of insults, crybullying, hate speech, dog whistles, and personal attacks.

5. 7 random people moderation.

6. Less deplatforming, more civil debating.
