There is a large number of homeless living close to my work in a semi-permanent camp. They wander into the lobby fairly often and I feel bad for the workers and customers stuck in the room with them… but l feel even worse about the homeless folks themselves. Some of them have addiction problems but all of the ones I have had experience with have had profound mental issues.
For all the problems with institutionalization, it seems brutal that these people are just left to fend for themselves on the street.
Any other "solution" is just a waste of time.
