Even then, it's technically open but it's using UDP so it's not like it'll show up in port scans or anything.

Wireguard protocol is specifically designed not to show up on port scans. See section 5.1 of the white paper: https://www.wireguard.com/papers/wireguard.pdf

Very cool - I didn't know that!

But, speaking generally, it's still good to know that UDP port scans are very much possible.
