I think today - where influencers drive serious demand and online shopping is huge - this might have a better shot.. maybe not with the HN community though

I did think it would be kinda cool/funny to have comments on an NCBI paper, or like Fed minutes.. it lets everyone have a voice on every webpage!

I agree.

Third Voice was a good idea at the wrong time. I don't think opposition from site owners perceiving it as defacing thier sites would carry as much weight today.

But something unchanged is the spam threat.
