Let me reiterate: "The last thing I need is to forget a dongle."

"though god forbid you forget your dongle one day and are completely screwed"

No, I always know where my dongle is.

Don't forget the dongle too.

Do you remember to carry your dongle with you everywhere you go?

Do you carry a spare dongle in your pocket?

Dongle!

The dongle is one more thing to buy, to keep around, to carry, to plug, to replace when misplaced...

> Well, shit. Now what?

Another dongle for you!

That would almost certainly require a dongle in all use cases anyway...

buy-and-use-it-till-you-lose-the-dongle

I've lost every dongle I've ever had ... never again.

Ah, of course, but dongles >:

To avoid dongle hell.

Like I said, I just leave my dongle attached to my headphones all the time. I forget the dongle even exists.

YES! I could have written this exact article. It rings true daily. Such a massive PITA, the number of dongles I've bought / lost, etc. is unreal.

When it comes wit a dongle, why is that such a problem? The need to remember it? (Ethernet seems like a pretty uncommon thing these days).

Yeah, this guy already has a bag of dongles anyways. I'd just carry a 12" MacBook at that point.

I didn't require a dongle until the latest generation.

Or a single USB-A port so I wouldn't have to carry and look for the stupid dongle all the time.

A dongle was available.

If I'm on an airplane listening to music/watching a movie on my device, the last thing I want is another dongle to keep track of.

It (the dongle) is still wholly unnecessary.
