Hello,
I've started to work with Java and Big Data in a smal startup 2 years ago. Started with very simple MySQL+Solr, 300+ million of documents system. Eventually got to HDFS + HBase + MapReduce + Solr, 23+ billion of documents in search at once (with more and more documents being added each second).
I'm excited by Java in general, multi-threading, Big Data and back-end development.
Why relocating: to get greater opportunities and experience (and there is not so much choi?e in my city).
We'd love to hire a few senior java devs, especially folks who want to go soup-to-nuts (front to back end). We were trying to hire in Denver, CO, USA, but eventually expanded to all of the USA because we weren't getting the candidates we needed.
$CURJOB has a downloadable product, which is a different world than the SaaS jobs that are prevalent these days.
I'm not sure they are a Java company, they are more Python, PHP, Golang, and Node. At least Java is not described in their job offers, which are usually a very nice way to know about the company stacks by the way.
