Which is neat, but unless you are a library designer it's probably not that much of a selling point.

That's really neat, I hadn't considered that. I will definitely try it out, and might end up using it for the library.

Sure, but I don't see it as being more evitable than any other popular library.

I don't think he's saying to do this in every library, it's just an interesting technique he uses for very minimalist libraries.

Thank you. So it makes some sense to me, developing this kind of library. Even if they have a marginal usability spectrum.

I had not heard of that; it’s an interesting project. But of course it doesn’t address the issue I was talking about, which is the OO nature of existing libraries.

It's not a very good library IMO.

I don’t really think slapping a UI on someone else’s library and then pumping and dumping it is that impressive.

It’s not supported everywhere though, so it’s not like you could use it to actually build a library, you would need to use something that fell back to Doubles anyway.

Yeah, that is pretty wild. Total prioritization of developer convenience over actual users of the library.

This looks a lot to me like a cute-but-convoluted way of just reading the standard library documentation... but whatever works for you. I like it for the novelty, but I doubt I'd ever legitimately use it as a reference or for education.

Yeah, it's limited by being a library instead of being part of the language itself.

Yeah but it's not going to be a part of a library. It'll be a few lines of code from a library.

This is nice but it’s not a simple library to use and I think that’s going to hurt it.

The library doesn't solve any UX problems; it just means the components don't need to be built from scratch.

While a very cool library, it will only be really useful once we get some content creation tools for it.

Not the 350+ libraries you need to pick to build anything useful with it.

It's not one of the most importart libraries in the language. It's hardly used.

Seems common, though it only helps so much with 3rd party libraries.

Possible drawback: it is commercial and not open source.

I think that's the main reason. $5000 does buy a lot of libraries.
