the price is $47/mo if you rent for a year

sort by: page size:

It's competitive. The price is $879, for those who missed it deep in the article. There are many places where 45 days worth of rent at that price will get you worse environs than a train.

You just have to pay attention. Last year this time people said it was $3400, but I rented for $2300 that May.

$2,550 a month from a rental property.

How much rent are they charging?

Any source for this? That sounds high, it would be enough to pay the rent for a year for each one.

I love it, but it doesn't include the rent being raised every year like clockwork. Right now it's $1500, next year $1575 etc

They also have a 1000 sq ft 3 bed 2 bath for $47k.

Your rent price is way off, you’re looking at 6k/month (72k/year) for a 4-bed, at least.

For $50 a month, I'm sure someone will love to live there.

Around $3000/month for a 1-bedroom.

Per the article, it's $10 per foot² of space leased. So I am guessing that to lease the whole place it would therefore be 7500ft² * $10-per-ft²-per-year / 12 months-per-year = $6250/month .

Average rental price of $1700 is still pretty high compared to most of the US.

about $2600 for a 2 bedroom.

Zillow estimates rent at that address as $6700/month, with the 2 bedroom condos in that building selling for over $2 million. Another listing at the same address was renting for $7950/month.

Isn't that a housing issue, though? Paying for a $2350/mo place on $60k is... pretty ridiculous.

Good estimates for SOMA pricing:

  Studio: $2000-$2700
  1BR: $2500-$3200
  2BR: $3100-4000

Try to ask how much is the rent and you'll see what's expensive.

I have no idea where you live that rent is $2,500 a month, but if it really is, I'm guessing houses aren't $400k.

A quick Zillow perusal showing 2BRs going for around $3.5-4k per month would seem to suggest that plenty of people are willing to live there (not me though).
