I just upgraded from Series 0 to Series 5. Passed it down to another family member. Battery still lasts whole day, and in general it was doing same tasks as a new one. Biggest issue I had with the old one is that it wasn't waterproof.
1) Vibrating alarm. Perfect as I hate these big vibrating discs for the deaf. They break frequently.
2) Message/Email notification. It vibrates when I get a text message so I can look and see if it's worth my time to reply or wait till later. Same with email.
3) Fitness - great for running and can even leave the phone at home (Strava especially).
I just moved from the first generation to the third generation and I'm pretty happy with it. It's faster in every way, same great battery life and the screen is much nicer for reading. One unexpected benefit is that Siri's voice annotation works decently enough.
If $500 isn't hard for you to swallow I say you should get one.
I bought a Fairphone 2 more than two years ago and I'm happy with it. Why would I want to switch to Fairphone 3? Has anyone seen a comparison of the two?
Just a quick glance, but it seems to me from these sequences that the 3GS and the 4 series were very good, even in respect to the next versions. What do you think?
I was in the same boat until a month ago and got a Note 3, I couldn't wait. The factory defaults are stupid, but once you get the phone configured how you like it's pretty awesome.
Short answer, the 4 looks like a fairly minor upgrade to the 3. If you're price sensitive that probably means you can get a 3 at a steep discount pretty soon (I got mine for $99 on contract) and won't be too disappointing. Spec wise, the 3 is already ahead of just about anything else on the market. I have a feeling it'll be a head of the iPhone 6 when that comes out.
What makes you love it more than say a 3? I loved the 1 and still have it lying around but I just can't say I love the 3 as much which is my daily driver now.
I have the 3G and I'm considering the 3G S for the improved camera, the video and as a bonus, the improved performance. I also only have an 8 gig 3G, and I'm starting to want more room.
I have the 3 and I love it. I can't compare it to a real flagship (like Galaxy or Pixel) but for $300 I got a really great phone that people always comment on.
I disagree that it's a revolution but think it's a much needed refresher. They also introduced some features that I think they've been lacking. It's a much better upgrade than 5 and 6 IMO.
Besides being 3 grams heavier, I am not sure what hardware improvements have been made to the 3G S to give it faster user experience. Does anyone have more information on this?
