I'm aware, which is why I specified "primary/signup device" in my original comment.
Is the desktop client a "first class" one? Can I use it exclusively, including for initial signup?
A sibling comment implies the answer is "no", but it's ambiguous, since "linking" could just mean the SMS validation, which, IIUC, need not actually match the phone number on the device [1].
[1] presumably a tablet would work and does not necessarily even have an associated phone number, but that's still not a desktop.
First time I've seen a 'text me a link' signup process, that's really nice for something people probably meet via their desktop first. Anyone else doing this? Any data on how this affects conversions?
Many thanks for the info. Love the site design/build BTW.
May I suggest advising mobile users to use a desktop to sign up, if you are going to continue to hide the sign up from mobile users. The barrier to entry is high enough with the ethereum coupling, frustrating mobile users could be somewhat mitigated with a message. Cheers.
You're asking people to join the beta and give you their email address with a very minimal website. I'm not even sure which phone this supports, or whether there is a non-phone way to interact with this.
Sounds very useful and I want to try this but the sign up requires the use of a cell phone. I'm afraid this will not work here in the Netherlands, is this correct?
If this is so, could you make an app or use WhatsApp or e-mail or whatever so I can try?
I think you've just got too many "okay next" steps. Also, is account activation really necessary? Couldn't I just start using the app immediately and activate within X days?
We currently have sign-in with google and apple but thanks for the suggestion of sending a link without a sign-in requirement. I do see how some people would like that better than downloading the app.
