Did you take a moment to understand why they are doing this with a coin, or are you just anti-crypto-coins altogether?

sort by: page size:

What makes you anti-crypto specifically?

Edit: see my sister comment for much more info

Since this is a pointed reply to my own comment, I'm just going to say that I'm anti-crypto, for the record.

I do not buy the premise that they thought that they were doing something for public good. I'm glad to mock them, and all the other cryptocurrency/NFT morons.

a succinct, correct explanation imo. if your angry, it should be at crypto before anything else. a largely useless tech that has lots of negative externalities, like this one.

Why are you even looking at altcoins for this?

Not sure if it was intentional but you just used the "few can understand" defense that I see in so many Crypto forums. "You don't like it because you don't get it". It's not a very useful defense of a product or concept. Crypto is not the Einstein to AI's Harry Potter, that is comical. This is the "you're all haters" defense.

I didn't necessarily, it's just a precaution. I see a lot of vitriol directed at Bitcoin, and this sort of extremist overcompensation is really nothing new anyway. It's just a reminder to stay rational.

Oh boy, you are not helping the cryptocurrency community with that extremist line of thinking...

I have no point now, I just trying to figure out of who the hell might be anti-crypto.

+1, this decision has made me rethink my anti crypto stance.

I didn't initially, but if you're reading that far in the comments I guess it can't be avoided. People need to know what CoinLab is trying to do.

I am not anti-crypto, but I am anti- stupid ideas and get-rich quick schemes that are incredibly prevalent in the "blockchain" space. I am for one or two cryptocurrencies/tokens, and that's about it.

And you thought being associated with cryptocurrencies was bad :-)

It's almost as if f HN doesn't understand cryptocurrency and you are just angry about it.

Your requests to stop? That’s news to me. But yeah, sure whatever. “Not a defense of crypto”.

So what you’re saying is: you don’t like crypto and are willing to make creative, cute but non-sense statements to demonstrate it.

I lean anti-crypto but I flagged you. This kind of comment doesn't belong here.

I speak up against cryptocurrency because it's a cancer. It's a hype adding to climate change without any real world use case whatsoever.

Actually I understand _exactly_ what they do, and how Bitcoin (and crypto in general) threatens their business model. But go on with your strawman, please.
