I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Firefox and DuckDuckGo, folks. Today's Google is no more benevolent than yesterday's Microsoft.

aww poor google I almost feel sorry..

ROFLMAO

Just yesterday I was being told on this website that Google didn’t clearly fumble this opportunity.

Good reason to de-Google my existence. When an evil thing is actively trying to destroy the Web in a way even Microsoft didn't, it's time for that evil to get destroyed.

That's hilarious in a sad way: "Here at Google, we don't spy on ourselves! No siree Bob, that just would not do!"

Maybe he didn't know what Google was?

The only mentions of Google concern Google Docs being SAAS and thus being unacceptable.

Hence, he was still lying about Stallman "using Google search".

My cry of shenanigans stands.

Assumingly because GitBook didn't expect Google to be so reckless and tone-deaf.

That was my thought too, but to be fair:

" 'Thankfully, neither of us use our Google accounts for anything remotely sensitive,' McCarthy wrote on his blog on Friday."

From the start I assumed that Sam was the (street) smarter guy here, and that only confirms it

Meanwhile Google remains oblivious

Nothing to see here. Just an idiot with more money than sense, like many of the top execs at Google.

Disclaimer: I work for the arrogant Google hypocrites.

Whoops, you were collateral damage.

Yeah, google does not care about you. Sorry.

Ah, FFS!!!

Just when I thought I fled Google.

Google was never open.

(I didn't have coffee and forgot that Google is indeed the #1 domain)

Is anyone still surprised by this behaviour from a post-Demore Google?

As if anybody would disclose the actual reason why they have left Google...

It's my understanding that he doesn't know what he did wrong. Google won't tell him.

Dude. You did NOT leave Google in good standing.
