With 60° fields of view :D

sort by: page size:

I was interested in these after reading your comment until I read the specs —

Field of View: 46°

They've even got a much wider field of view (they claim around 90°) which should be useful for most things that don't attempt to be fully immersive.

What's the field of view?

Nicely done! Any idea what the field of view is?

Correct. And with a wide field of view (45 degrees), they'd allow a real-time view globally.

They could put fisheye lenses on it and get close 180°.

how many degrees field of vision?

Seconded. It comes within epsilon of having a 180 degree viewing angle both vertically and horizontally.

From the image at the top of the article: "up to 200m range" and "35 degree vertical field of view".

This one is available too, with 90° FOV: https://www.metavision.com

How is the field of view?

You don’t need a large FOV for movie viewing. Even if it were only 60°, you’d be able see a 2 meter wide screen at a distance of 2 meters (and that’s measuring that distance to the edges of that screen; its center would be about 15% closer)

From the website: 26.3 degree diagonal field of view (stereo). Display brightness up to 2,000 nits. I worked on these but am not allowed to say anything other than citing public sources.

Do you have a source for that? Their website says it has a FOV of 35° x 20°.

Akonia/Apple: 60° FOV (targeted)

Hololens: 35° FOV (currently)

Magic Leap: 40° FOV horizontal / 30° vertical (currently)

Way more. They say it has a 95 degrees vertical FOV and 360 degrees FOV. The vertical FOV is awesome actually.

A Velodyne VLP-16 has roughly 30 degrees FOV. We need the vertical and horizontal angular resolution to make any real judgements though.

According to specs, field of view is 23 degrees. Concept video seems to exaggerate the visible portion of AR.

What is the field of view?

(Note that humans have 210 degrees FOV, and from the looks of those goggles, it seems to be a lot less, but I could be wrong)

50° FOV. It's still like looking at the world through a shoebox strapped to your face.
