I didn't really have an easy way to adjust the volume of a single tab in my browser without downloading an add-on to give each tab their own volume slider.
I've got multiple sources of audio coming from the browser since it has taken the place of so many applications. Generally I'd expect sites that sell/stream music to have a simple volume slider.
Lol, this was so so SO annoying when Soundcloud first started gaining traction. It was an insane pain in the ass to go to Volume Mixer -> Firefox -> Drag down the volume. And then drag it back up when I switched over to Youtube.
It seems like such a common-sense obvious simple-to-implement feature, it blows my mind it took years until we got a volume slider.
Hi thanks!
1.Not sure about a volume slider - always saw this as avoidable for simplicity and UX.
2. You absolutely right. Its a must. Was to complicated so far... we'll see
What is with audio apps on web refusing to add volume sliders? I see it on instagram, tiktok, podcast sites, this site, etc. I genuinely don't understand why I would want to manage the volume of one app with my system volume. Do people actually want everything to be the same volume?
Sorry about that! It's a player made by Omny, my podcast host. But I'm unhappy with them for other reasons too, so I'll be switching away soon — self-hosting, and using the native media player. So your volume slider wishes will be fulfilled. Thank you for the request.
yeah agreed, i have an in with some of the devs on this - the volume slider was a secondary feature and is on the list last time i heard, stay tuned (haha) for the next release,
Why? You have global volume control, music players have it. To me it's the same as asking every website for brightness adjustment bar or font size control.
