If you had it replaced in an Apple Store I'm guessing they'll make it right for you. Call the store and tell the automated system you want to speak to a manager. It'll get you to a real person and given the PR around this issue I'd be surprised if they didn't give you something of at least this much value.
That does suck, but one of Apple’s strengths is that you can walk into an Apple Store and have stuff like that fixed- usually quickly and often for free.
Go to an Apple authorized repair shop. They will replace it if you simply pay them to, and they are cheaper than Apple while using the same authorized parts.
Did you have it replaced at an Apple Store or by a third party? I'm deciding between the two – my gut is to go with the Apple Store, but the apple website makes it sound like it could take up to 5 days, which is too long.
If that is true, prepare for even longer lines at the Apple Store, as people queue up to return it or get it fixed on the spot! And how will Apple play this? Manufacturing defect?
I wish I had an Apple store nearby. Instead I have to take to an Apple Authorized Repair center, have them mail it off to Apple, turns out they forgot to report one of the issues, have them mail it off again and then a month later I get my machine back, and it turns out it's still not fixed.
Yes! This has been driving me insane. I spent an hour on support with Apple, was sent to Best Buy, but do to COVID-19, cannot get an "appointment" for a replacement for 2 months... I should have opted for a mailed replacement. :/
