I bought my Pixel 4a specifically because it wasn't made in China (Vietnam). I would have considered upgrading to the 6 if it were made somewhere else. I also was considering a Google Titan security key until I learned they were made in China, too.

Pixel 5a. Made in Vietnam by the Taiwanese company Compal Electronics https://tw.appledaily.com/property/20210819/4W5C3MGDDJEILMIY...

Not Pixel 6 though. Still made in China https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/China-tech/COVID-slows-Appl...

Pixel 7 is made in China according to this tweet: https://twitter.com/vvaiibhav/status/1580454957580681216

Pixel would be manufactured in China, though the sales might be very low. As I assume other google hardware.

Google seems to be hiding the fact where the phone is made. I think it's very important to know for a consumer to make an ethical choice. Where they make it?

While you might be right, I can't really find data to support that claim:

https://blucellphones.us/where-are-samsung-phones-made/ claims Samsung is 50/50 India/Vietnam

Pixel 5 and 6 are made in Taiwan.

Lot of phones aren’t “made” in China. Just assembled.

Google's phones aren't made in China? And is Google Play not in China? With Google I always wonder where the PR ends and the reality begins.

Made in the US is not a good thing as they spy even more than China. A good phone is open source and made outside China and Five eyes.

With Huawei behaving this way can we trust our electronic devices made in China? Are there devices purely made in South Korea or Taiwan?

(Note I don’t say this with some kind of anti-China sentiment, I’m pretty sure I’d be worried about the NSA back-dooring everything too if it was made in the US).

Pixel production has moved at least partially to Vietnam according to some sources.

My latest smartphone is mostly EU with Taiwanese manufacturing. It's the best phone I've used yet. The only thing Google adds is branding. True enough about search engines though.

Yet somehow Google manages to make phones and not cooperate with China.

Where do you think your Android phone is made?

Nexus 6P was made by Huawei, which in my opinion accounts for its quality.

Google builds phones at Foxconn too.

Google has also worked on many projects in order to appeal to China's government as well.

Not really since all the components that actually make the phone are also made in China.

Smartphones, both iPhone and Android are manufactured in China

>Chinese smartphones

Find me a smartphone that isn’t made in china.

The phones that run the Google OS are approximately 100% manufactured in China, just like the phones that run the Apple OS.
