> add another 10 years to my career" -- he was probably in his early 60's already
I have absolutely no problem - even prefer - having a surgeon with 40+ yrs experience operating on me via a robot device that removes any tremors from old age. Their experience is what matters.
I've read about him before. He follows a pretty extreme "health" regime. He's pretty obsessed about living longer - but he isn't actually taking any time to live.
While his regime obviously brings some benefits, it doesn't stop aging. Looking at him, it's pretty obvious that it doesn't. He is healthy for his age.
I am glad this dude is like 20 years older than me, it gives me a safe buffer to decide if I should hop on his train or not. If he still seems healthy in his 70s it will be very interesting.
It's not for us to decide. If he feels younger then he should have the right to identify as younger. Scientifically there are certain biochemical changes that happen in the brain as we age and there is strong scientific evidence that some people maintain young brain chemistry even into old age. Just because he was born 70 years ago doesn't mean he's a 70 year old.
