Several teams have scouted him and given him a chance, are you saying they went through all that effort just to save face?

>I'm just saying, the guy got repeated tryouts

He never got any try out's. That's the whole basis of his grievance. The Bronco's offered to trade for him before he was cut, but he'd take a $4million paycut so he declined. After he was cut there were no try outs or offers.

And they might have gotten him back on the team if they hadn't spectacularly blown it.

Yeah, the guy doubted himself and his own team even after they landed that deal, and as a result lost the deal? If I was on his team I would be pissed.

Bad job to not win a deal despite having access to all your prospect's internal communications.

Why discount the effort before you try? The worst that happens is they don't buy the pitch, and he's back where he is now.

That "nit" that he's picked is kinda huge.

But I agree it's not the only factor.

Not to mention he was drafted 2009, before that VC was in.

They know who these A players are but are afraid to hire them.

I read criticisms about him in a few other places too. Either way - if there’s something huge to be found here it’ll be found my many teams

He is a sports-star of bullshit. He's not the best by a long shot, I have better in my own family, he's not got the vocabulary to play a wide field for one thing, but he is in the leagues.

edit - just reading the news this morning. He is perhaps further up the leagues than I thought.

Still going through a talent drought. Has barely made any impact.

this was two years ago though. why rush someone when you're planning to play the long game anyway?

I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to get Jack Dorsey back (emphasis on "tried").

If his last team lost all their games, he probably isn't very good.

Plus, Luckey was 22 in 2014. That's plenty young to be naive (though that does nothing to excuse his behavior since then).

By targeting a SV darling like Dorsey?

Also: "The hardest thing is to let go of a player who has been a great guy – but all the evidence is on the field."

That's the public-facing reason.

The real reason is that dropping him after the first big losses would make it clear that you f'd up by backing him in the first place.
