I wrote the same two points in the comments of the article when it was published. I'm really disappointed with the NYT, having subscribed just a week before.

Did NYT not reach out to you for comment? Curious why your reply is here instead of within the article itself.

What was misleading about the NYT piece?

Someone's upset at the NYT

I cancelled my NYT subscription because of that article last week, and cited it as the reason. Might have to take something for my schadenfreude.

NYT? Really?

nytimes.com angered me (a fan of nyt) when this was their top story on the front page yesterday.

What are your issues with the linked NYT article?

Note that when I wrote this, the headline here was still the NYT's headline.

Sadly, I've come to expect this kind of thing from the New York Times.

> US foreign policy lapdog, petty coastal elitist NYT itself got cancelled...

Well said. NYT is insufferable and has been for a while. Maybe it always has been.

I have canceled my NYT subscription after reading this.

Did anyone write to the NYT about this? "Letters to the editor" seems a more useful place for feedback than this, or the previous blog post.

(I can't check, I'm not a subscriber.)

I initially read: "Why you can't trust New York Times." Might've been an interesting article too.

Which NYT article? What earlier contemporary reporting?

Nope you are correct. It was early and I misread it as NYT. That is my mistake

Sorry, should have mentioned that I skipped the NYT and went straight to that :-)

This is shameful, and the second time this month NYT puts out such a shameful piece (the first time was the JetBrains/ Solarwinds article). I guess this should be enough to disregard everything NYT will write, and stop reading them.

Another commenter said that NYT still produces comparably some of the best journalistic content. I will have to stop reading news if this is the case. After the whole fiasco of Scott deleting the blog, and this is still the piece they decided to go with. It's a bit hard to trust the NYT's integrity..

This article may not have been written with NYT in mind as the publication that would eventually run it.

Really quite the failure by the NYT.
