That's not L4 vs L6, that's start in 2015 vs 2108 or whatever.

There is an overlap. Both V4 and V6 are currently LTS until April.

There are big discrepancies in the US alone. I'm comparing mine (L6+) to those.

Or at least because people incorrectly think it did.

v6's L3 model is pretty much the same as v4's.

They skipped the 4/4T series because of some superstition about the number 4, which makes the 6T 3 years behind 2T

It's about the 2015 models.

I think 3rd gen is 2015.

That's the 2015 version.

I don't have a single source, but it is not hard to figure out. Some of it is in MichKa's posts on Google Groups, and notice for example the >1 year long gap between Jet 4.0 SP5 and SP6.

Thanks but that is '13 and earlier. was asking about W14 (and previous batches).

Holy shit, I had no idea there's a 6th gen, AND it came out in 2014.

I thought they were still using a handicapped A5.

Ah nvm, 2nd gen was in 2015.

You don’t agree on the 16” being the spiritual successor of the mid 2015 15”?

Not the new one! It's up to 2048xsomething-or-another.

Oh, I misread the article. It says "sold between September 2015 and February 2017", but it's only talking about 2015 models.

There is a difference between the platform update, and model year updates.

This was last year's model, though.

And the 2023 was a stripped down version only available in Europe as well, that + the track change is why I looked up the 2017 numbers to compare properly.

It's being replaced this year by a D version.

It’s considerably older than Ext4 though.
