He should make up his mind about this 'free speech' thing and then stick to whatever decision he comes up with for at least a couple of months. This is beyond silly.

Oh please, let him decide that.

It doesn't seem to matter if he wants to at this point. Not only is he being told he has to, but also faces court rulings about messing about with the process. Unless something significant changes, it's likely a matter of time before he does. (or pays significant penalties)

Considering that he went out of his way to express his opinion (calling it a "fraud" and "con"), it'd be funny if he sits this one out.

I think at this point the right thing to do would be for him to turn this down.

I think this is the smartest solution. It would be a pyrrhic victory if he continues on this course. Not to mention, he could cause a higher court ruling that he doesn't want.

He says that he might do that, depending on how the next couple of days go. Regardless, it's not gone yet.

If he does, it will only remain amusing for a couple of days...

I don't think he should reject it. Rejecting it would be an insult and spur unnecessary controversy. He should accept it with grace and move on.

He's already made up his mind, so he'll probably just leave out this important tidbit when discussing the issue with "management"

There's just no political upside to backing down at this point. It won't win him support and might cost him some.

So why would he change his mind? There's nothing to gain.

Exactly. I think he may be reconsidering that, though it's probably too late. The whole thing is very baffling.

Leave it up. He deserves the opportunity to see what people here think.

Seems like an extreme step if he feels after a few days he isn’t being taken seriously enough. That’s not a lot of time.

Isn't that what the issue says he will do?

Yes, he should, after he sorts out his more immediate dilemma.

First I would like to see him try. second If he does this then people will have a genuine reason to protest, not a good idea at all.

I don't think you are going to change his mind, he seems very set on it.

He wants to. Freedom of choice...

Okay then he should do something else.
