It would be a lot more useful if country contours were drawn too like https://gpsjam.org/ does.

Another attempt for a quite similar idea is Cartograph http://connary.com/cartograph.html

I did something like this with my Google Latitude history: http://imgur.com/a/gfzIH

but this visualization is far nicer!

I like the map picking a lot better than naming the country in WhereTaken[1]. The US version is even easier because you only need to guess the state.

https://tracker.geops.ch Similar thing for many different parts of the world.

This looks similar to what I designed for myself using Meteogram[1].

Unfortunately the best feature isn’t global: https://en.mapy.cz/ceskoza100?x=16.7243354&y=49.3595814&z=8

I wonder if it would make sense to merge this with OpenStreetMap (see: https://openinframap.org/)

Small, but real-world-ish with a JS map: https://xn--gfrr-7qa.li/ Still missing a lot of festures and polish though.

Cool! We did something similar for worldwide public transport:

Similar to http://mapillary.com.

It's great to see more open data like this, lots of uses for creating maps by hand or even machine learning.

And if you'd like to try it out: https://www.geo-fs.com/

Could use Geogebra.

A more convenient link for easy navigability: http://www.worldmapper.org/textindex/text_index.html

Pretty fascinating stuff! If you have other stuff like this that a data junkie like me might enjoy, please let me know!

A similar page for Europe: https://euromomo.eu/graphs-and-maps/

Try this link: http://es.b-ok.lat/

And also https://geotastic.net for a free alternative

There’s OpenSeaMap: https://map.openseamap.org/
