Why would you even use brave? You want to view advertisements just use Chrome. If you don't there's Firefox and ublock origin.

If you don't opt into seeing ads, then Brave is a browser with ad-blocking built in (and a donate-to-sites-you-use button).

When I tried Brave, it blocked website ads but gave me browser ad popups on the top right. No thanks. Stick to Firefox.

Why don't you use Brave browser to get away with those ad?

That's what I did before I knew about Brave. If I don't have a choice I'd use whatever browser provides adblocking, but with a choice I'd prefer a Chromium-based browser.

Firefox and all the other browsers serve ads in the address bar. Brave is the only mainstream browser that doesn't do that.

What's the idea here? I was under the impression that one of the selling points of Brave is that you don't get ads when browsing. Doesn't this go against that?

What ads? I'm writing this on Brave and I've never seen any ads. Are we talking about the same browser?

Brave browser is literally built to block ads.

Use a different browser that’s not chrome.

Problem solved.

Disclaimer: I don’t use Brave because I don’t want to see more ads. In the 90s, there were little banner ads that ran on your pc in the same app that helped you connect to the internet. That’s essentially what Brave is, except I don’t NEED to see more ads, as I needed to pay for internet in the early days. Just us a browser that blocks cookies.

I don't really see why I should use Brave over something like Firefox with uBlock Origin.

Because ad blockers are just add-ons, they can be circumvented. Also, many ad blockers allow advertisers to pay them to allow their ads to get through: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:G3lu90...

FTFY: The Brave Browser Will Pay You to Watch the Ads

If you do not want to watch any ads on the Internet, period, here's nothing the Brave browser can offer you than uBlock Origin cannot.

Also:

Use literally any other browser with Adblock and you'll get a better, less bloated experience than Brave.

Sure, Brave can block ads, but isn't the browser exploring injecting its own advertisements?

Here here. Even though they use the same browser engine as Chrome, the Brave team have chosen not to include the blocker limitation introduced by Google[0].

You have a mobile browser without an ad blocker? Brave

Well, because Brave is pretty much a renamed chrome with preinstalled adblock

If you don't have any ethical objections to adblocking, the Brave browser supports Chrome extensions.

Interesting. I use uBlock Origin for Chrome on my iMac, but most browsing I do is on my iPad, so having Brave ready to go with its ad blocker is a must some days.

Why use AdBlock with Brave? That functionality is built in.
