Do you have any comparison? Is it akin to loggly? splunk? rollbar? sumo logic? new relic? Looking forward to seeing the website this weekend, good luck!
Good call on the RateItAll comparison apsurd. I think MakeFive is off to a nice start, and they are doing some smart things around avoiding duplicates and running contests. A few other list building sites that either haven't quite made it or are still trying are: Listible (gone, but they were cool), OnMyList (getting buried in spam now but also cool), and Amazon Unspun (failed).
Thanks! its a similar concept to bestcovery, hunch, retrevo, testfreaks, etc.
The reason why i dont care for those sites very much is they are so generic, and because of that, have a hard time really addressing and comparing based on the particulars of each person's situation.
I would compare it more to a yahoo!answers specifically for tech prods/services, or even a stackoverflow system geared more towards tech products/services.
We track what people are saying about web hosting companies on Twitter to see who people are happiest with. It's not a perfect system but what we're trying to do is create an objective and transparent way to compare these companies which I felt this industry truly lacked. Maybe it will help you compare some of your options, we track Media Temple (http://reviewsignal.com/webhosting/company/23/mediatemple/) and GoDaddy (http://reviewsignal.com/webhosting/company/34/godaddy/) as well as many other big companies mentioned in the comments (Linode, Heroku, RackSpace, ASO, etc).
Thx a lot! I'm also surprised by the low quality of most products on ClickBank & other sites. That's why I'm talking openly about it, I'm sure most geeks here could do way better then everything on those sites.
Those are all sites with 1000s of engineers, real-world use, and actual evolutionary pressure driving their features. You want to compare to essentially static sites with some light user statefulness.
I would say that they all have stable user bases which is nice to see. Though some are weighted towards different niches. I recommend checking them all out.
hh.ru - Russian Linkedin. Main difference - works 10 times as fast( while having a quadriple amount of lines in JS ), best UI of any "webapp" I've ever seen for both mobile and desktop versions.
moikrug.ru - used to be an amateur blogging website/semi-opensource project to which I contributed at around 2006-2007. Now after being resold and respun 10 times over, it has been turned into a job site as the only demographics there were software devs... They managed to best HH.ru at scaling down the UI even further. Currently, they run the best job board for tech talent in Russian speaking countries. They have very select clearing criteria for clients to minimize "spamcruiting," and other bad recruitment practices (thought they did bend over for the biggest players there like MS and Yandex.) That focus on working with right clients is what has been propelling them ahead of others.
Which are the best sites for e.g. product managers, rails devs, etc to list themselves on? (Not asking you to tell me, asking you to design the software so I don't waste time listing myself on e.g. 10 sites). Think more of a curated experience than a directory.
