This game also features a similar system, but it's more sophisticated.

It's the same kinda game in some way. Objective functions are often easily reused though.

Slightly inspired by it maybe, but verry different (real-time vs turn based is biggest difference).

This game appears to be more simulation-based, as opposed to EE's more arcade-y style.

It's as if they are different games with different design philosphies. :-)

Ah that is a good comparison. I am very familiar with the Hitman series and this does seem to be very similar having a set of objectives and the player needs to put the pieces together.

This is a really complex game, don't let the "old school" graphic fool you!

Wow, thanks!

I agree the gameplay is different, but the idea of working through your filesystem is what made me think of it.

Yeah, the game loop seams quite different, but the game looks interesting regardless. I'm putting it on my wishlist. Thanks for the recommendation.

Damn, thanks for the thorough description. It sounds different and I hadn't heard of it. New gameplay styles are always refreshing.

But they play nothing alike. The mechanics aside from the representation of the world are incredibly different.

Instead of being "follow-along" it's interactive. You have goals, can compete with others, explore, etc. just like in ordinary games.

A lot like the VC game in many ways.

I disagree; I've played both and they share many of the same game mechanics.

If you're looking for a more polished version of this game, "Turing Complete" on steam has the exact same premise.

Yes. Massively better, but time-consuming and certainly not a gateway game.

It is the one, and you're right it's not the same game, although similar.

Agricola

Not the same setting you described but its a frustrating one, it pretends to be a competitive game pitting the plays against each other but the mechanics for mere survival seem to override that.

It reminds me more of Cortex Command, as it also has physics simulation and similar goals, unlike Worms

Hmmm, that and they are also both games which simulate running a tower as a business.
