It actually saves automatically. Refresh and you'll see a continue button. It would have been nice if this was more clear.

It actually does an auto-save for you, silently in the background. But there would be an uproar if they got rid of the save button entirely - people like to feel in control of their important data.

Probably Ctrl-W, and the browser does the saving. It also works with back.

You can set it as the default and it should save.
