Fun, but stutters on my workstation, making it unplayable - FF 38.0.5, 32GB ram, Xeon E5 2690, GTX 780 Ti

sort by: page size:

It also stutters on my i5-750. Not exactly the newest CPU, but it runs every modern native game just fine.

It ran smooth enough on 486/33DX with 10 Mb of ram. Actually it ran better on that than on 66 DX2 with 4 megs of ram.

I'm running an i7700k and a GTX1070 on a rig that was built in 2016. It's fine. Not the most performant thing that's ever been run on my machine, but it's perfectly playable. I had some stuttering issues during the first week or two but have not had any significant problems for quite some time.

It runs awful on my work computer, but fine on home computer.

Running fine on my "work" laptop :) (Win7 64bit i72760qm@ 2.4GHZ 8GB RAM)

I just realised that my company laptops is A LOT better than my desktop at home :/

I tried playing it on a 386SX/16MHz and it definitely suffered. It was somewhat playable with the detail features cranked down to minimum.

It runs really nicely on my 4.4 GHz i4790k windows pc. Get a better computer? ;)

My attempt to run it with the my VS 2022 dev console and a newly downloaded CUDA installation ended in flames as the compilation stopped with "error limit reached", followed by it defaulting to a CPU run.

It does run on the CPU though, so at least that's pretty cool.

It's laggy as hell for me on a i5-3427U. Not a beefy machine, but unless your target audience is gamers with tricked out PCs...

I have it running, slowly, on the same machine. I would love for someone to get support running for MPS backend (The GPU) but it does run on the CPU.

It ran ok on my Pentium 60MHz with 8MB ram. :-)

Aye, runs fine in Workstation 6.5 omn Ubuntu 8.10.

DF is mostly single core CPU bound. I've heard it also doesn't play well at higher resolutions. Try turning the game resolution down to 1080p.

If it runs on any machine, it's not for everyone.

Tried it a couple of months ago, and it ran like ass. Could be due to older hardware? Serving PC is core 2 duo 6850, and htpc it was playing on is core 2 duo 6400. Wired fast ethernet connection.

Runs OK on my Surface Pro 2. Core i5, Intel GMA, 4GB of shared RAM.

There were some places where the framerate dropped but they were the more complex demos. The fan kicked in almost immediately though. In general, even if the framerate was low it was stable.

Interestingly IE11 seemed to render almost as well as Chrome and I didn't notice a speed difference. I guess that's what happens if you offload work to the GPU.

Runs fine on my machine. Are you using an integrated GPU?

Doesn't for me. i5 and 24 gigs of RAM.

No kidding. I'm reasonably certain I played it on a 33MHz 386 with a couple megabytes of ram.
