Imagine LG doing something like this with their TVs...

sort by: page size:

LG TV’s have been doing this for years...

The LG sets did this.

I wonder if this can be exploited somehow to do something cool with those TVs

What did LG do? (I've got one.)

For Science: Let's see if LG's willing to have some TV boxes printed with bicycles...

Is LG the only mainstream TV manufacturer which allows this?

It was LG.

Wow. This is amazing. I guess I have to buy LG tv's from now on.

Yeah, their TVs look nice. But I wonder what hidden issues it might have? I am just skeptical of everything LG now. Of course this is just anecdotal, so I am sure there are people who say everything LG is awesome.

On the upside, LG refunded me the whole purchase price of the Nexus 5x that broke. So props to that.

Can’t tell if you are joking or not, but when I unboxed my tv and was able to hold it up with one hand, easily and bend and twist it...pretty f’ing cool. It attaches to the wall with clips and magnets.

Rolling it up is great for some people. My wife isn’t a huge fan of giant TVs taking up space. The less than a pencil thickness of the lg tv makes it cooler than most, but being able to put it away or move it so easily would be cool.

They are only going to get more flexible. Soon you will have displays on everything and walls that double as TVs.

The lg wallpaper tv is my favorite piece of tech I’ve ever owned...unless you go back to the NES/SNES!

> LG wasn't giving their TVs away.

No, but they're selling them at cost, and using monetization tactics to make up for that over the long term.

It feels like LG and Samsung just came out of nowhere to take over the TV market.

I'd definitely buy. Have a feeling the result would be some crappy tv though. Just a hunch.

I mean I always saw this as something theoretical TV manufacturers could do but I've never seen such a TV in the wild. Can you give an example?

That's insane. Do they actually think they're going to sell any TVs containing this "feature"? Sure, they can make them, but... who's going to buy a TV like this?

Oh you mean like a Samsung television?

That's quite possible but it's not the form factor from LG's TV concept I just don't see them fitting a full TV under 5mm like in their concept, not in the next 10 years or so.

Well done picking a good TV. Unfortunately even other LG TVs are doing this: https://twitter.com/chriswelch/status/1369733357756686349

Why TVs? All the good panels are by LG.
