No definition of the Y Combinator ;-)

sort by: page size:

So technically, that's a "Y Not-Combinator"?

Y-not Combinator?

Also known as the Y Combinator :P

Well I guess that's Y Combinator to some extent...

This is just a 'Y-combinator thing.'

Oh wow, I didn't know that "Y-Combinator" was not just a fancy name but was an actual computer science concept. Thanks!

This link (from the comments on the OP) is actually a very interesting yet simple explaination of the Y-Combinator.

The Y combinator.

Y combinator possible?

I really don't feel legitimate to update a wikipedia article about Y-combinator, sorry. The bar is too high :)

at times i wonder if people forget that "Y-Combinator" has a real meaning ...

Maybe I'm getting old, but I definitely don't remember an N-combinator.

The Y combinator was in there, also the Z combinator. You just didn't read far enough.

Neat, I just learned what the Y combinator actually is!

It sounds like the description of Y Combinator, no?

Maybe there is a Y-Combinator connection?

Y combinator is more a math thing. Not a programming primitive. Highly doubt there's any Y combinators in the code being used to build this site.

It's called Y Combinator ;)

I'm only somewhat kidding.

Playing off the fact that the “Y” clearly didn’t stand for “yes,” ...

Uhh, no. Y-Combinator is a nod to the fixed point combinator: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fixed-point_combinator#Y_combin...

+1 for Y Combinator :)
