Oh wow, I didn't know that "Y-Combinator" was not just a fancy name but was an actual computer science concept. Thanks!

Neat, I just learned what the Y combinator actually is!

I'll be honest, I didn't know what Y-Combinator is. It was one of those things I just took as granted. Mind blown.

Also known as the Y Combinator :P

You can see where the name 'Y Combinator' came from. Thanks.

The Y combinator is one of the most beautiful ideas in computer science.

It's inspiring to see that it could have real-life applications.

It's called Y Combinator ;)

I'm only somewhat kidding.

The Y combinator.

This link (from the comments on the OP) is actually a very interesting yet simple explaination of the Y-Combinator.

Y combinator possible?

It sounds like the description of Y Combinator, no?

i've read about y-combinator a few times, but i must say your fours paragraphs are the most enlightening i've ever read. You should add them to the wikipedia introduction's in the ycombinator page.

Maybe there is a Y-Combinator connection?

Beautiful!

If it’s not clear this is the original meaning of Y combinator in computer science. Here is a link I found about it:

This is just a 'Y-combinator thing.'

I think that even for programmers, Y Combinator (the fixed point combinator not the company) is somewhat obscure.

No definition of the Y Combinator ;-)

Well I guess that's Y Combinator to some extent...

I really don't feel legitimate to update a wikipedia article about Y-combinator, sorry. The bar is too high :)

There is a Y Combinator in there!
