If I remember correctly, HN automatically converts Reddit links to old.reddit.com (less user hostile).

I think HN changes the URL to use "old.reddit.com" instead of "reddit.com"

HN automatically changes reddit URLs to the old. subdomain. Currently the URL is https://old.reddit.com/over18/ not a link to the actual post. You might to repeat the correct URL in a comment. (Unless it points to underage content of course)

Interestingly, the link leads to OLD.reddit.com

Is this some HN global setting or are people really linking to OLD.reddit.com?

Please use old.reddit.com when linking from HN :(

Maybe dang could even make it an automatic redirect?

I'm more impressed by the fact that HN didn't convert this linked to old.reddit.com

FWIW - I was still served the old.reddit.com link from the HN frontpage. Maybe that's already known behavior, or not. Just thought I'd share!

Thanks for posting the link to the "old" Reddit, by the way. It should be default on HN in my view.

www.reddit.com --> old.reddit.com

your link seems funny... I wonder if hn is doing a bad regex replace to change URLs to old.reddit. However, I was able to get construct a working links: https://old.reddit.com/r/bashonubuntuonwindows/comments/1cda...

For reddit, try old.reddit.com, or you can set your account to always use old in preferences.

It's not as clean as hn, but way better than "new" reddit. (I use it even on my fast connection.)

Same with old.reddit.com links.

reddit.com -> old.reddit.com -> i.reddit.com

there's also ns.reddit.com that appears to be the same as old.reddit.com

Old.reddit.com is fine until you follow someone’s link on reddit and it takes you back to the new reddit. Argh.

ns.reddit.com is the same as old.reddit.com, I think ... and I use the Redirector addon to make sure that I never see the new reddit.

Sounds like it should convert it to i.reddit.com then since it's even less user hostile, at least in my view

Use old.reddit.com, not the new interface. There's an extension called old reddit redirect that redirects links to the former automatically.

Petition to automatically change “www” to “old” in all Reddit links submitted to HN?

There are browser plugins to redirect to old.reddit.com.
