It also doesn't look right if you turn off CSS styling.

I agree that something is wrong with CSS. When you have to resort to hacks when making columns and vertically centering things... you know something is wrong.

It’s an earnest question, not a complaint. I looked at and messed around with the CSS a bit but I’m not a web dev so I don’t know what the problem is.

Because I am terrible at making CSS do what I want, unfortunately.

Seriously, though, I think I do some type of aspect ratio check - maybe that's the culprit.

Lamentable. Must be some missing cross-browser CSS.. I'll look into it tomorrow! In the meanwhile try it in Chrome if you have a chance :)
