I think that this person is more trustworthy than Musk. After reading Musk's depositions he is not a person that I would consider to be honest and forthright.

sort by: page size:

Musk is known to be dishonest, but something tells me the person making this claim is an ideological opponent of Musk. I would hesitate to believe this until more information.

Agreed. I'll give the benefit of the doubt to Elon Musk who has an unparalleled track record of honesty...

I don't really trust Musk on his word.

Having met Musk is irrelevant when deciding whether to trust the public statements of someone who has a long and well documented history of lying in public statements. In particular he has repeatedly lied about business related details, most notably claims of self driving readiness.

It doesn’t require strong opinions about Musk to understand the value in taking what he says with skepticism.

I've been arguing about this article on another forum, and have been looking closely at how Musk is interpreting his own data - and he's being loose and fancy-free with it (both sides have engaged in embellishment, it seems). As a result, I don't think he's a shining bastion of honesty - I wouldn't trust Tesla any more than any other entity.

People value trustworthiness, and Musk's track record with public statements about his businesses definitely isn't the best in that regard -- though that largely concerns the utopian predictions/promises he likes to make, I suppose. Maybe statements of his about the current state of affairs are more reliable.

I don't think Musk deserves the benefit of the doubt. His history of just lying about this sort of stuff (outside of Tesla-related claims) is too long and rich for that.

I would trust a random person who has been hired by Elon Musk more than I would trust Elon Musk.

I would trust a random person who has not been hired by Elon Musk, more than I would trust the first random person.

So the fact that I would find a Nueralink spokesperson more trustworthy than Musk himself doesn’t say that I have high trust in that spokesperson.

Musk has lied repeatedly in public, so it's difficult to assume good faith from him.

I think the point is that Musk has proven that he can't be fully trusted.

Musk is not a trustworthy source of information.

I'm just generally skeptical of Musk. He is great at putting out blog posts that people don't treat like the press releases they are.

Musk is not a very reliable source at this point. Especially when discussing ethics.

I wouldn't take him at his word. Musk says a lot of shit in his tweets.

I'm not sure why would anyone would trust what Musk says without independent confirmation...

Personally, I find the person who delivered on electric cars and reusable rockets more credible than a random anonymous account.

Anything Musk says is unreliable with a fairly substantial history as proof.

According to Musk. Are people still trusting the things he says?

Musk has gone to substantial lengths to undermine his own credibility and you wonder why people question his statements? It's not even a 'strong opinion' at this point, it's just reality: Musk can be trusted for what he says. It may be true, it may not be true. It may be technically true. But you'll never know until you've seen the evidence with your own eyes.
