I don’t think anyone would mind if the vehicle was being driven on private roads

Do you drive it on a private road?

My car happily drives on private roads, and even dirt and gravel, without government approval.

Somehow, I don't think someone buying a Roadster has a problem parking it under cover, away from the public...

yeah but who'd want to drive it on an actual road...?

But I don't before buying the car. Or to use the car on private land.

I don't think I would drive that with any other cars on the road. Hopefully there is a safety package.

Not on public roads.

Not on public roads.

In many US states, there are no vehicle inspections, so as long as it has the basics like turn signals, wipers, brake lights, headlights, etc. it can be driven on the street and nobody will care.

Maybe if you only drive in a private property and not public roads. Probably like aftermarket modifications currently.

It can be purchased by a consumer and driven on public roads.

In what sense is it not one?

no chance if it's on the country roads.

Hmm.. are you sure? Don't they have to be street legal to drive on the street? You can probably buy one to drive on private land but that's about it.

It wouldn't need to be able to safely drive itself, just safely pull over.

what’s the target audience? people shouldn’t be using this on public roads.

(i own a former formula D car. it never goes on the street)

Cars are not built only for public roads.

"I also doubt that it will have no manual control mode, so it shouldn't an issue regardless."

Could they even legally sell a vehicle with no human control right now?

Don’t own a vehicle — have driven and “been driven” by one

And not human friendly neither, don't want to be involved in an accident with such a car
