It’s the past and present, what do you think will change if nothing changes?

What will change?

They always say nothing will change. It's the surest indication that there will be changes.

Wow, yeah, never say that. Even if you believe it's true, saying nothing will change is sort of like waving a red flag in front of the bull. Of course things will change over time, they always do!

This topic is just about wether this changes or not

If it didn't change already then it likely never will.

And what makes you think that this couldn't change at literally any time?

My first thought as well, why change when nothing have changed.

Then it seems like you’ve just stated a tautology. Things don’t change unless they do.

It would be surprising if they don't change, but I haven't thought enough about it to have any strong belief about where they're going.

my current view is that the change will happen to us regardless. we will be forced to respond in some way

By that logic, who’s to say “things won’t change” again, such that they find there is cause for concern after all?

I’m not saying that’s what I believe, but if you’re admitting that we’re “changing and updating our beliefs as evidence comes in”, that also implies that we didn’t — and may still not — have all the data in front of us to make decisions.

Nothing. I no longer believe anything is possible, so we will simply have to deal with the changes.

In a sense, things do not change, they stop to be changed from a assumed state.

It'll happen over time. I'm not sure of the right answer, but people on all sides are aware that changes are needed.

One can argue that things stay the same until someone (and by this I don't mean a single person) tries hard enough to change them - e.g. now there are dating apps where men simply can't start the conversation. Accepting the status quo as the law of nature certainly won't change anything.

Yeah yeah, everything can always be changed in the future.

change is the only constant. then and now.

This is irrelevant all-or-nothing thinking.

Of course all things change -- that doesn't mean something changing for the worse is therefore inevitable or less shameful

Humans have been through this many times before...the only constant is change.
