Wow, yeah, never say that. Even if you believe it's true, saying nothing will change is sort of like waving a red flag in front of the bull. Of course things will change over time, they always do!

They always say nothing will change. It's the surest indication that there will be changes.

Do you have a quote where they deny it is changing?

If it didn't change already then it likely never will.

It’s the past and present, what do you think will change if nothing changes?

There are ALWAYS changes. I can't (or don't) believe anyone actually really believes it when that is stated.

This comment doesn't actually say anything. Yes, things change. Yes, that's a part of life. That doesn't automatically make all change for the better.

Not all things always change. Like change, for instance. Change that doesn't change remains the same. Just sayin' :-)

Then it seems like you’ve just stated a tautology. Things don’t change unless they do.

That’s what people said before every single change that ever happened.

One thing is for sure, apathy never lead to any change.

Bravo. Too many people assume change is somehow the same over time.

And what makes you think that this couldn't change at literally any time?

> never

Leadership changes. People change their minds. Something can absolutely be a genuine intent today but that could change in a few years.

I fully understand that, but sentiment can change. It's disingenuous to say it won't change in the future because it hasn't yet changed.

But they don't happen overnight. I didn't say change wouldn't happen, I said it wasn't likely to happen anytime soon.

>With that attitude nothing would ever change unless there is immediate visible change from a very small group of people making said change.

It's more the opposite: unless there is immediate visible change from a very small group of people making said change, nothing will change in the end.

Which is precisely where all the "personal responsibility", "do it and others will follow" wishful thinking mottos have gotten us thus far: nothing ever changed.

> What happened in the past is not an indication of what will happen in the future,

The definition of change.. but some people seem to believe change does not exist. Is it possible to reach such a person/

Then you do not really want to make a change. Things will not change themselves (except to the worse).

Yes, but the argument that they have changed is an equally compelling argument that we can't be confident they won't change again in the future.

I'm not arguing that it can't or won't change; I'm arguing that it won't change back to what it was before.
