I had the same thought. Doctorow provides interesting solutions in the same book IIRC.

I must admit, seeing this title gets me thinking about one of Cory Doctorow's books...

Pretty sure thats the plot of a Doctorow novel.

Perhaps, but this is the second article by Doctorow this week.

Just curious, in what piece of writing did Doctorow predict this? I'd like to read it.

That's because they were both written by Cory Doctorow.

Yes, that was the one I was thinking about. Apparently I write like Cory Doctorow :) Added link.

Thanks for the informative read. I hadn’t read Cory Doctorow in years but I’ve bookmarked that site.

Indeed. The author is the brilliant Cory Doctorow. He usually overwhelms.

Doctorow’s written a few books here - not sure if they provide an answer, but he’s been one of the better thinkers in this space:

Similarly, I liked Jaron Lanier’s “Who Owns the Future?”, which deals with similar topics:

Yep. Cory Doctorow.

I mean Doctorow writes books about communism so I think it is fair to say the answer is yes.

Cory Doctorow’s latest book, “Attack Surface”, does a good job of exploring this concept IMO. https://www.indiebound.org/book/9781250757517

Whenever I come across a description of Cory Doctorow's novels, I almost always find them compelling.

It's probably time for me to check out his books :)

Doctorow has always been solid on this topic.

This is excellent. Doctorow doesn't disappoint.

Definitely the same story I was thinking about. Maybe Doctorow linked it somewhere? It certainly sits very squarely at the center of his interests in law, copyright, privacy, fatherhood and spec fic. Thanks!

That's certainly an interesting view. Can you expand on that? What were they doing before that they're not doing now, or doing more of under Doctorow's influence?

Pretty much all of Doctorow's work is worth a read, as a matter of fact.

This sounds vaguely familiar. It was fiction a few years ago when Cory Doctorow wrote about it. :-(
